Date: 08.06.2021 Category: general news

This year's results of the prestigious Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which universities are compared for 54 fields of study, have been announced. WUST reached a high rank in three fields – mathematics, power engineering, and mechanical engineering.

The GRAS ranking results have been published since 2009 by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. The universities included in the ranking are evaluated in 54 fields covering natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. More than 4,000 universities from all over the world were evaluated this year.

The latest ranking includes three academic subjects offered by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, with Mathematics (ranked in the 201-300 bracket in the Natural Sciences category), ranking the highest. Also, compared to 2020, we have maintained our positions in two disciplines: Mechanical Engineering (301-400 bracket) and Energy Science & Engineering (301-400 bracket) – both included in the Engineering category.

The GRAS rankings use a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure the performance of global universities in relevant areas, including research output, research impact, international collaboration, research quality, and international academic awards.

Full ranking results are available on the official GRAS website.
