Remote learning until the end of the winter semester

Date: 16.10.2020 Category: general news

Due to the worsening epidemic situation, Rector prof. Arkadiusz Wójs decided that classes would be held only remotely until the end of the winter semester.
  • As a type of individual activity, diploma theses may be carried out in a traditional way with the consent of the supervisor and the dean, in compliance with safety rules.
  • The defense of diploma theses, exams and course completion assessments can be carried out both remotely and stationary - the current epidemic situation will be the key argument.

Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs:

In making this difficult decision, I was primarily guided by concern for the health of the staff, students and doctoral students of the university. It was also influenced by the numerous voices of students, whom I did not want to leave in a situation where the time of courses suspension is extended every few days or weeks and there is uncertainty as to the possibility of carrying them out on a face-to-face basis.

I hope that the situation will stabilise for all of us. I would like to ask students and staff members of WUST for caution and prudence - with a sense of responsibility for ourselves, our colleagues and people close to us.
