The main objectives of the visit by delegations from Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep (RMUTK, Thailand) and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT, India) to Wrocław University of Science and Technology were to exchange experiences in the areas of study organisation, research, and cooperation with industry, as well as to expand existing academic contacts.

The trilateral cooperation between the universities has been ongoing since 2023, when an agreement on this matter was signed at our university. Now, during a meeting with the authorities of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, represented by the Rector, Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs and Prof. Dariusz Łydżba, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, the possibilities of expanding it were discussed.

“At Wrocław University of Science and Technology, we believe in cooperation that gives scientists the opportunity to innovate, enables students to develop, and allows institutions to forge stronger links with society and industry,” says Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs, Wrocław Tech Rector. “I am therefore delighted at the prospect of continuing joint research projects and academic exchanges between our universities. Today's meeting is an excellent starting point for these activities,” he adds.

The cooperation so far has included joint second-cycle and doctoral studies, academic exchange programmes (for researchers and students, including visiting professors), as well as research programmes in the fields of automation, production engineering, and information and communication technologies.

Part of the visit also included the presentation of a certificate of appreciation for the cooperation to date to the president of RMUTK, Prof. Pichai Janmanee.

In addition, the delegations also met with representatives of six Wrocław Tech faculties to discuss opportunities for expanding the cooperation. The networking activities included representatives from the following faculties: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Power Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

VIT is one of India’s best universities. Founded in 1984, the university is located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The university offers 71 bachelor's degree programmes, 58 postgraduate programmes, 15 integrated programmes, 2 research programmes and 2 industrial M.Tech programmes, as well as doctoral programmes in engineering, science, and philology.

RMUTK is a Bangkok-based public non-profit higher education institution established in 2006.  The university has six main areas of study: Arts & Humanities, Language & Cultural, Business & Social Sciences, Medicine & Health, Science & Technology, and Engineering.
