Over 40 Wrocław Tech researchers rank high in the TOP 2% list

44 researchers working at Wrocław University of Science and Technology have become included in the latest edition of the prestigious ranking of the most influential people in the world science. The TOP 2% list includes the names of scientists whose publications are most often cited by other authors.

Developed by analysts from Stanford University, the publishing house Elsevier, and the company SciTech Strategies, the TOP 2% ranking evaluates the entire scientific output of researchers according to the bibliometric index, having regard to criteria such as the Hirsch Index, the number of citations (including self-citations), or the place on the list of authors.

The list comprises almost 190 thousand names from all over the world, with 957 people working at Polish research units. The largest number of influential researchers included in the list, amounting to174, come from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Wrocław University of Science and Technology is – just as it was last year – in sixth place, while ranking third among Polish technical universities.

As for Wrocław Tech researchers, the highest-ranked ones are Prof. Rafał Weron of the Faculty of Management, followed by employees of the Faculty of Chemistry: Prof. Paweł Pohl and Prof. Katarzyna Chojnacka.

Compared to the previous year, the number of representatives of our university has increased by 17.
