The Institutional Evaluation Programme for Wrocław University of Science and Technology conducted by the European University Association (EUA) has been a success. Our university has thus obtained the right to use the prestigious logo “Evaluated by IEP”.
Members of the European University Association’s international team of experts, chaired by Sokratis Katsikas (rector of the Open University of Cyprus), have come to visit WUST twice. The first visit took place in October 2019 and the second one in early December. The purpose of both meetings was to discuss the information contained in the self-assessment report and to acquaint the members of the EUA-IEP team with the management and operation of the university, particularly with regard to the management of research and the application of its results.
The final result is the EUA-IEP team’s report, which has just been published along with recommendations for changes. The positive institutional assessment of our university allows us to use the prestigious EUA-IEP logo for the next five years. Within the next twelve months, our university should prepare a short report on the development of the university, taking into account the suggested recommendations.
Wrocław University of Science and Technology was highly evaluated both in terms of the quality of education and the standard of research. Its activities supporting internationalisation and student support services were also recognised.
The following areas were analysed:
The evaluation is financed under the project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education named "Foreign Accreditation", implemented under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development.
The Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is an independent membership service of the European University Association (EUA) - a tool for developing and improving the university management system which offers an evaluation of the institution participating in the programme, supporting it in developing its strategic management and organisational culture. IEP focuses on the whole institution, and in particular on the decision-making processes, institutional structures, and the effectiveness of strategic management.
The European University Association (EUA) is the largest organisation representing European universities involved in research and teaching activities as well as national rectors' associations and other organisations related to science and higher education. With membership constituting over 800 institutions in 48 European countries, the organisation promotes the development of higher education in Europe and represents the education sector in social and political fora (e.g. European Commission, European Parliament) that determine the shape of regulations concerning higher education.
