The family of our university’s dwarves has grown. WIZek, equipped with laptops and a mobile phone, has appeared in front of the building housing the Faculty of Computer Science and Management
The little statue was placed there to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management. The dwarf was made in Beata Zwolańska-Hołod’s sculpture studio. WIZek – whose name comes from the abbreviation of the department's Polish name, i.e. WIZ – can be found in front of the entrance to building B-4 in Łukasiewicza Street.
The sculpture depicts a dwarf sitting at a table and working at two laptops. One of them features the Faculty's logo and the other one - an inscription that reads “1969-2018 50 years of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management”.
WIZek is the seventh dwarf - following Chemik, Lappek, BEAnek, Wykształciuch, the eight rowers, and Poliglotek - to find his home at the campus of WUST. He received a solemn welcome from Rector Professor Cezary Madryas and Dean Professor Zygmunt Mazur.
