Our university has become a member of an organization shaping science policy and regulations at the European level. The decision to admit Wrocław Tech to the CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research) was announced in Brno during the association’s annual assembly.

In a conference hall with the Brno University of Technology logo, the Rector of Wrocław Tech delivered a speech:“Membership in CESAER is an opportunity for us to further strengthen our position within the international academic community. The mission of Wrocław University of Science and Technology—based on the values of openness, collaboration, and research excellence, particularly in engineering—is fully aligned with the values and objectives of the association,” emphasized Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs, Rector of Wrocław Tech. “The organization not only supports its members in striving for the highest standards but also represents a strong, united voice of European technical universities influencing science and education policies and funding programs. We are ready to actively participate in the association’s work, contribute our perspective, and help shape the future of modern and sustainable higher education in Europe,” he added.

Wrocław Tech will become a full member of the community on January 1, 2026, gaining the opportunity to actively co-create European science, education, and innovation policy. It will be the fourth Polish university, after Gdańsk University of Technology, Poznań University of Technology, and Warsaw University of Technology, to join the organization.

CESAER currently brings together 54 leading technical universities from 25 countries in Europe and beyond. Since its founding in 1990, the organization has served as a collective voice for universities of science and technology, contributing to the development of the European Research Area (ERA), the European Education Area (EEA), and the European Strategy for Universities.

Membership in CESAER will open new opportunities for cooperation—ranging from participation in thematic groups on sustainable development, innovation, and technology transfer, to co-creating recommendations for European Union institutions. It will also provide a platform for exchanging experience with leading research centers and developing international partnerships.
