Joint research projects, student exchanges, conferences and seminars - these are the plans we intend to pursue with Vellore Institute of Technology from India and Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep from Thailand. The cooperation agreements were signed during the ongoing ISPEM2023 conference at Wroclaw Tech.
The documents were signed by Prof Arkadiusz Wójs, rector of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Prof Saichol Chudjuarjeen, vice-chancellor of Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep, and Prof Anthony M. Xaviour, dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology.
- "I am delighted that we are able to establish collaborations with such dynamic universities conducting very interesting research," - said Prof. Wojs - We will all benefit from this cooperation. Wrocław Tech has recently adopted a new strategy defining its priorities for the coming years. We aim to be a strong European scientific centre, therefore international cooperation is of fundamental importance to us. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which will be directly involved in various projects and initiatives with your universities, is one of our largest faculties with important and innovative research. I am convinced that there are many fruitful ventures ahead, developing our universities".
Among other things, Wroclaw Tech together with universities from India and Thailand intends to conduct academic exchange programmes (scientists and students, including inviting visiting professors), organise seminars, workshops and conferences, initiate research programmes and jointly apply for grants in the discipline of materials engineering.
The agreement with Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep is the Wroclaw Tech's third cooperation agreement with a university from Thailand. We already have students and doctoral students from that country studying at our university, and we also have students from Thailand coming to visit us for a semester. The new cooperation agreements, on the other hand, will enable our students to travel to Thailand for part of their studies there.
The cooperation agreements with universities from India and Thailand were signed during the ongoing Intelligent Systems in Production and Maintenance (ISPEM2023) conference at Wroclaw Tech. The event is jointly organised by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Liverpool John Moores University (England) and the University of Minhio (Portugal). This is the fourth edition of the conference, which takes place in a two-year cycle. The first two were held at our university and the last one in Liverpool in 2021.
Participants in the event discuss manufacturing engineering and Industry 4.0. More than 100 people from 37 countries have come to Wroclaw, and more than 50 are taking part in the conference online. More than 190 papers have been submitted for the event, 140 of which will be published in prestigious publications and journals.
