Date: 11.12.2019 Category: general news, international cooperation

In early December, WUST hosted representatives of the European University Association (EUA). It was the second such visit within the framework of the ongoing institutional evaluation. The first was held in October 2019.

wizyta_delegacji_eua_1.jpgThe purpose of the visits was to discuss the information included in the self-evaluation report and to familiarise the members of the EUA-IEP team with the university management and operation, in particular with the management of research activity and the application of research results.

The meetings with experts were attended by over 150 people, including the university authorities, the Self-Evaluation Team, Chairpersons of Science Discipline Councils, members of the Education Quality Council, Chairpersons of Curriculum Committees, employees of CSTKI, WCTT, AEI, and CCE, as well as a group of researchers and academic teachers, students, and doctoral students.

The EUA-IEP team visited the Departments of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, and Electrical Engineering, as well as selected laboratories and students’ scientific circles. The experts' visits result in preliminary recommendations for changes and proposals for new directions of development - the relevant document is available on the intranet.

The following areas were analysed in the course of the examination:

  • management and institutional decision making,
  • quality culture (organisational culture),
  • teaching system,
  • research,
  • social activities,
  • internationalisation.

The final EUA-IEP report on the university will be published in the first quarter of 2020. If the university successfully goes through the international assessment procedure, it will have the right to use the prestigious IEP logo.

The evaluation is financed under the project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education "Foreign Accreditation", implemented under the Operational Programme “Knowledge Education Development”.
