A meeting of representatives of seven universities from Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and the Unite! is underway at Wroclaw Tech. They are working together to develop green campus standards.

The workshop was organised within the framework of the 'Green Transformation in Ukrainian Universities' project, which is run with funding from the National Agency for Academic Exchange. The programme was launched in January 2023 to support Ukraine's academic community by engaging partner institutions in regular activities under Unite! Erasmus+ in the working area 'An Open Innovation Community for Green Transition'. Wroclaw Tech is the leader of this area.

And it was on our initiative that the Unite! consortium invited seven universities from Ukraine to collaborate:

The most important objective of the project is to develop green standards for Ukrainian universities in education and research activities in the field of engineering and technical sciences and to develop a local version of these standards taking into account the specificities of Ukrainian higher education institutions. The second objective is to develop a green campus model and implement the standards in the area of research and teaching activities and campus operations.

An equally important challenge is to establish ongoing cooperation between Ukrainian universities and the Unite! This will help in the process of rebuilding the country after the war and will be an important step in the process of integration with the European Union. A two-week course on 'Green technologies for the development of Ukrainian society' is planned. It will be attended by students from Ukrainian universities on the one hand and, on the other hand, by didacticians from universities affiliated with the Unite! The course will cover topics in disciplines that will be applicable to the reconstruction and modernisation of Ukraine's industry and infrastructure.

The final objective is to develop and implement a system of micro-credentials for Ukrainian students on topics thematically related to green transformation.

The project 'Green Transformation in Ukrainian Universities' will be implemented until 31 December 2023, the National Agency for Academic Exchange has provided funding of PLN 882,446 for this project
