This year, the student rag is going to last as many as eight days. The event will begin on May 11 at 9:00 am with the traditional Breakfast with the Rector at the Student Culture Zone. The programme of the part of Wittigalia to be held at the weekend includes, among other things, the P.I.W.O. project, the great barbecue, and an outdoor cinema.

sniadania_z_rektorem_na_poczatek_wittigaliow_1.jpgStudents of Wrocław University of Science and Technology will first enjoy themselves at the WUST campus and at Teki halls of residence, taking part in numerous events prepared especially for them. Over 20 attractions are included in the programme, such as Qlturalia, Technikalia, the 5th dance marathon, the Spartakiada sports competitions, film screenings, Americana music concert, as well as a night game.

The whole celebration will start with a breakfast to which the Rector of WUST, Professor Cezary Madryas, invites our students to the Student Culture Zone. The nutritious meal will consist of sandwiches, fruits, and drinks. To make the day truly unforgettable, the organisers have prepared unique commemorative mugs for the participants.

Wittigalia will comprise the regular student rag activities at Teki, such as a barbecue, the grand fooling about (with sports and quasi-sports competitions, e.g. the famous chest sliding) and the P.I.W.O. project, i.e. a light show performed with the windows of a 10-storey hall of residence.   This time, students from the Scientific Circle MOS have announced a “surprising show”.

The detailed programme is available on the Facebook profile of Wittigalia.

Another student event, Wrocław’s Juwenalia, starts on Monday, May 14. It’s going to be the first time for as many as six tertiary institutes to join forces organising an event for all students.

It’s mainly Wrocław University of Science and Technology that is responsible for the preparation of the traditional parade. This year, however, its route will be different than before. The participants meet at 10 am at Wolności Square (near the National Forum of Music). There, the authorities of Wrocław will bestow the symbolic rule of the city to students. At about 11.20 am, a colourful procession will set off towards the Students’ Passage at the WUST campus.

Its route will be as follows: Kazimerza Wielkiego St. - Dominikański Sq. - Społeczny Sq. - Grunwaldzki Bridge -  Grunwaldzki Sq. - Students’ Passage (by buildings D-20 and D-21).

The organisers expect that the participants will take about 1.5 hours to negotiate the 2-km route.  Then, the students will head for Pola Marsowe, where the Juwenalia concerts will start, with artists such as L.U.C.,  Rebel Babel, Myslovitz, Tede, Mesajah, Tabu, Bovska, and Krzysztof Krawczyk.

Wrocław’s Juwenalia (May 14-18) are going to be jointly organised by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, The University of Wrocław, The University of Environmental and Life Sciences, The University of Medicine, The Academy of Physical Education, and the Academy of Land Forces.
