Wrocław University of Science and Technology has been ranked one of the best universities in the world in The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the so-called Shanghai ranking.

The results of The Academic Ranking of World Universities were first published in 2003, and since 2009 it has been led by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. Universities are rated according to six indicators of academic or research performance, including alumni and staff who have received Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of articles published in Nature and Science, and articles indexed in major citation indices.

This year, with more than 2,000 universities from around the world compared, the published list includes the top 1,000 universities. Wrocław University of Science and Technology was ranked 901-1000 and took third place among Polish technical universities (together with Warsaw University of Technology).

On the other hand, among the fields of study conducted at our university, three areas were included in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, announced earlier. Mathematics was ranked 201-300, while Energy Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were ranked 301-400.
