judyta_cichocka_nnp2018.jpgJudyta Cichocka works at the Department of History of Architecture, Art and Technology at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. In her research work, she focuses on parametric design and the techniques of Architectural Design Optimisation, which consist in three-dimensional modelling by means of programming, making it easier for designers to make conscious formal, spatial, and material-related decisions.

Cichocka, PhD is the co-author of the "Silvereye" optimisation program based on optimisation using the swarm method. According to the results of her research, it can solve design problems many times faster and more effectively, which in effect will improve the quality and energy efficiency of architectural projects.

The researcher would like optimisation to have a wider application in architectural practice and has therefore set up a consulting company which is among the TOP30 European climate improvement companies.

The Scientific Awards of Polityka are granted in five conventional categories: humanities, social sciences, strict sciences, technology, and life sciences. In total, the weekly has already awarded 302 people in recognition of their efforts and contribution to the development of Polish (and not only Polish) science. The award celebration was held in Warsaw.
