zespol_pwr_racing_team_na_zawodach_w_czechach_2.jpgFormula Student is an international engineering competition open to students’ teams from all over the world. The participants in the competition must design a racing car, build it, and make sure it performs well on the track, as well as present a business concept for the vehicle.

32 teams from countries including the Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, and Poland took part in the competition held in Most. The competition started on Wednesday with a mandatory technical inspection and static competitions, in which our students took third place for Engineering Design, fourth place for Business Plan Presentation, and seventh place for Cost and Manufacturing Report.

Friday was the dynamic competitions day. In the Skid Pad, i.e. a time trial along an eight-shaped track, RTX - the racing car built by WUST students took the fifth place. Then the teams competed in an acceleration test over a distance of 75 meters. The bolide covered this distance in 4.14 seconds, and this result - obtained in the last of the four planned trials - ensured the fourth place for our team.

- Another challenge, called Autocross, took place in the afternoon. This one consisted in completing one lap of the track as fast as possible in the shortest possible time. Our drivers were not only fast but they also demonstrated excellent precision, which resulted in the excellent third place - says Anna Mycek, PWR Racing Team’s leader of marketing and management.

The final competition was Endurance, which consisted in driving a specific number of laps (15 laps in this case) over the shortest possible time. Our students also did a great job at that, taking second place.
