Remote learning in the summer semester

Date: 28.01.2021 Category: general news

Dear All,

Dear Staff, Students and Doctoral Students,

I know how much students and academics want to return to the university, but the epidemic situation currently prevents this. I do not want to surprise you with overnight decisions, nor do I want to put you at risk of costs (e.g. renting a flat). After consultation with experts and in agreement with the deans, I have decided to continue organising studies in the summer semester in the remote formula.

The rapid increase in the number of infections and deaths in countries where the recently identified new strains of coronavirus have already spread, as well as the confirmation of the first infections with the mutated virus in Wrocław, do not give grounds for optimism that the epidemiological situation around the University will be under control by the summer holidays.

However, if the predictions of the third wave of infections do not come true, at the end of the semester I allow for the possibility of conducting classes critical for a given course in a stationary form - here the decision will rest with the dean of the faculty. In some courses it is also planned to organize optional stationary laboratory classes in September.

With best regards and best wishes for your health,

Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs
Rector
