The Rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology Professor Cezary Madryas has been admitted to Academia Europaea – a prestigious international organisation for scientists working in various fields
Based in London, the Academy was established in 1988. Its membership comprises almost 4,000 outstanding specialists in the fields of medicine, chemistry, physics, mathematics, economics, the humanities, and social sciences, including more than 70 Nobel Prize winners. The organisation promotes the highest standards in science, research, and education while supporting an interdisciplinary approach to science. It is divided into 20 sections across four subject groups - the humanities, social sciences and related fields, strict sciences, and biology.
Professor Cezary Madryas was admitted to the 400-strong (including 15 members from Poland) Physics and Engineering section following the nominations from Professor Adrian Bejan from Duke University and Professor Keith Moffatt from the University of Cambridge.
Academia Europaea has branches in Barcelona, Wrocław, and Graz. The scientific director of "Wrocław Knowledge Hub" is Professor Arkadiusz Wójs, Dean of the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology.
