Both the qualifier and final races were held at a distance of about 800 metres, while the dragon boats’ challenge consisted in a 200-metre row with 16 teams taking part.

Four teams entered the men’s category. In the final race, the representatives of our University immediately took the lead and never gave it back until the end. They crossed the finishing line at 2:36:00 outstripping the eight of Cracow’s Academy of Mining and Metallurgy by two boat lengths.   Their award was medals and the Cup of the President of Wrocław. The third place went to the team of the Jagiellonian University, which outdid the University of Wrocław. It was the third consecutive Odra River Cup won by Paweł Rańda’s oarsmen, who also received a cheque for one thousand EUR for their achievement. The prize money was sponsored by the company Doctor Brew.

As for the women’s challenge, six teams from Poland and Germany took part, with the team of the Pomeranian University of Medicine topping the qualifier race. Also, the eight from the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy reached the final by slightly getting the better of their German rivals.  The regatta final, with the Cup of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodship offered as the main prize, turned out to be the most exciting race of the day. Both boats went side to side for a long time before the eight of the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy slightly taking the lead near the finish.   Ultimately, the Pomeranian University of Medicine, despite topping the qualifier, had to settle for the second place.  The third place was taken by the oarswomen from Bremen.
