New Vice-Rectors at WUST

We already know the five Vice-Rectors to hold their offices in the term of 2020-2024. On Wednesday, the rector-elect, Professor Arkadiusz Wójs introduced his cooperators to Professor Cezary Madryas, the current rector of WUST.

The Vice-Rectors of Wrocław University of Science and Technology for the term 2020-2024 will be:

  • Professor Agnieszka Bieńkowska, Vice-Rector for Education,
  • Professor Andrzej Ożyhar, Vice-Rector for Science,
  • Professor Tomasz Nowakowski, Vice-Rector for the Organisation and Development of the University,
  • Professor Dariusz Łydżba, Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Business Environment,
  • Piotr Górski, PhD, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs.

The Vice-Rectors will start performing their duties on September 1, 2020.

Professor Agnieszka Bieńkowska – ViceRector for Education

"I consider it my most important task to modernise didactics at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and make our education reach the highest standards of quality, a world-class quality".

Professor Agnieszka Bieńkowska currently heads the Department of Management Systems and Organisation Development at the Faculty of Computer Science and Management.

So far, she has held functions including Deputy Director for Teaching of the Institute of Organisation and Management, Vice-Dean for Teaching of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management, Chair of the Faculty Committee for Education Quality Assurance and Evaluation, and Head of the Division of Management and Organisation Development.

 

 


Professor Andrzej Ożyhar – Vice-Rector for Science

andrzej_ozyhar.jpg"I treat my organisational work as a service to the tertiary institute, to our University of Science and Technology. This is how I would like to treat the function of Vice-Rector for Science in the coming term".

Since the beginning of his academic career, Professor Andrzej Ożyhar has worked at the Faculty of Chemistry of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he currently holds the office of Dean and Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology.

Previously, he was also Head of Doctoral Studies and Vice-Dean for Science.

 


Professor Dariusz Łydżba - Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Business Environment

"In the coming term of office, I want to strengthen the position of the university as a leader providing support for the business environment with its research facilities and".

Professor Dariusz Łydżba has been the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering since 2016.

At our university, he has held function including Director of the Institute of Geotechnics and Hydro technology, Head of the Department of Geotechnics, Hydrotechnology, and Underground and Hydro Engineering.

 

 

 


Professor Tomasz Nowakowski - Vice-Rector for Organisation and Development of the University

"First of all, I want to improve the university’s operation during the pandemic, tackle the organisation of WUST authorities’ work, and improve the organisational structure, e.g. the regulations for human resources, payroll, and employment policy, or decisions on investment procedures".

Professor Tomasz Nowakowski is currently Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Discipline Council, Head of the Department of Technical Systems Operation, and a member of the Transport Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

He was also Director of the Institute of Machine Construction and Operation.

 


Dr inż. Piotr Górski, PhD, Eng. – Vice-Rector for Student Affairs

"I want to focus primarily on the development of scientific, cultural and sports activities, the promotion of our students and doctoral students at home and abroad, as well as the integration of the academic milieu, cooperation with the university’s students’ self-governing organisation, as well as the local government".

Piotr Górski, PhD. works at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where he holds the function of Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs. Since the beginning of 2020, he has also been the Rector's plenipotentiary for social, cultural, and sports activities of students and doctoral students.

Previously, he was the Rector's plenipotentiary for student activity and entrepreneurship and the Dean's plenipotentiary for the promotion of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
