Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin has awarded the Awards of the Minister of Science 2017 in Warsaw. The annual awards are granted in recognition of exceptional scientific achievements, individual and collective achievements in the area of education, as well as organisational success. 60 representatives of the academic milieu, including four academics from our university, were awarded at the ceremonial event
The group of the best academic teachers included Janusz Górniak, PhD, Eng, Associate Professor, Vice-Dean for Students’ Affairs at the Faculty of Mathematics, while our researcher Piotr Mackiewicz PhD, Eng. from the Faculty of Civil Engineering was awarded for his scientific achievements.
Professor Andrzej Kucharski, Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Economy and Informatisation and Waldemar Grzebyk, PhD, Eng, Director of the Centre for Scientific and Technical Knowledge and Information received from the minister awards for their organisational success achieved in 2017.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education also awarded grants to young scientists conducting high-quality research and enjoying international recognition for their achievements in the area of science. The laureates, including eleven people from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, will receive subsidies of 5,390 PLN a month for three years freely decide how the funds will be spent.
Additionally, 36 students and three doctoral students from Wrocław University of Science and Technology have received grants from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for their exceptional scientific achievements. These will amount to, respectively, 15 and 20 thousand PLN.
