KN "Robocik" - the best scientific circle in Poland
The Scientific Circle of Automation and Robotics "Robocik" has won the Pro Juvenes competition organised by the Parliament of Students of the Republic of Poland. Our students were recognised for their creative activities and innovative projects, among other things
The awards were handed to the winners on November 24 in Warsaw, at the Pro Juvenes Student Environment Awards ceremony.
The awards were granted for initiatives and projects (e.g. student rag events, student culture, students’ sports activity), for outstanding students (young scientist, student-athlete, student artistic personality) and for student organisations (scientific circles and societies and student media). The KN "Robocik" was voted the best scientific circle in Poland in an online poll.
KN "Robocik" has been operating at WUST’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since 1997 and is one of the oldest scientific societies at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The projects carried out by its members include a sorting industrial robot using artificial neural networks, a vision system for work, as well as a model of an autonomous vehicle.
The scientific circle’s main project, which our young designers have been working on since 2016, is an autonomous submarine robot. In August 2018, they entered it in the RoboSub competition in California, moved up to the semi-finals, and won a special prize for the best computer simulation in the Unity environment, which they made to support boat testing.
