Marcin Motyka PhD from the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology has become a winner of the 5th edition of the "Iuvenes Wratislaviae" competition. The distinction is awarded by the Wrocław Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences to young Doctors working in Lower Silesia in recognition of their outstanding scientific achievements
"Iuvenes Wratislaviae" was established by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 2012 with an intention of recognising young people who contribute not only to the development of science but also promotion of Wrocław and the entire region. This year, there were 19 young scientists among the nominees, including six from Wrocław University of Science and Technology. All of them were given occasional medals and diplomas during an open meeting of the Assembly of the Member of Wrocław Branch of PAS, while the winner of the main award, apart from the medal and diploma, received 10 thousand PLN.
The previous winners of "Iuvenes Wratislaviae" from Wrocław University of Science and Technology were Adam Kiersnowski PhD from the Faculty of Chemistry (2013) and Monika Danielewska PhD from the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology (2014).
