Almost 70 people from different parts of the world are visiting our university during the summer holidays. They have come here to take part in two summer schools organised by the Internarnatiol Office.
Almost 50 people took part in the activities organised as part of the National Academic Exchange Agency's “SPINNAKER – Intensive International Training Programmes” initiative*.
The project at Wrocław Tech was coordinated by the Department of International Cooperation with six faculties of the university involved: Architecture, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Management and Electronics, Photonics, and Microsystems.
The first part of the summer school was conducted remotely, but at the end of it – between July 25 and 29 – young people from countries including Turkey, Brazil, Iraq, Germany, Ukraine, India, Cameroon, Pakistan, Liberia, and Georgia came to our campus. – They came to Wrocław Tech primarily to gain practical knowledge and bond with our students – says Anna Jarosławska from the Department of International Cooperation.
That’s not all, however, as the organisers also made sure that the foreign visitors got to know Polish culture and the history and magic of the Lower Silesian region. Additional attractions for the participants included a tour of Wrocław and trips to Srebrna Góra, Ząbkowice Śląskie, and the Książ Castle, as well as a rafting trip down the Nysa Kłodzka River.
Two more groups of visitors came to Wrocław Tech as part of the 3E+ summer school. Here, the participants had a choice of classes at two faculties. At W13, people from the Czech Republic, Spain, France, and India developed their data science skills. The second group, from Parul University in India, will be studying project management and gaining knowledge about entrepreneurship and international business at the Faculty of Management until August 26. As with other summer schools, a rich cultural and sightseeing programme is also prepared for the students.
*The programme is financed from the non-competition project No. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN16/18 entitled “Supporting the institutional capacity of Polish HEIs through the creation and implementation of international study programmes” under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development.
