The Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar commences its operation at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The initiative involves a series of open meetings with world-famous speakers. The inauguration lecture will be delivered by Professor Anthony Guiseppi-Elie from Texas A&M University, a prominent specialist in the field of biomedical engineering

The Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar is organised with a wide audience in mind. – It’s important to us that academic staff, students and doctoral students, but also all those interested in deepening their knowledge of exact sciences take part in it - says Professor Andrzej Trochimczuk, Vice Rector for Scientific Research and Internationalisation of WUST, the originator of the Seminar.

Every month, Wrocław University of Science and Technology will host an expert who will talk about the latest research in their field of science. – We’re inviting both foreign and Polish researchers. These are really eminent personages, who don’t only boast important research but also can discuss it in an engrossing way - says Professor Arkadiusz Wójs, the President of the Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar.

The first lecture, dedicated to the application of the achievements of the contemporary bioengineering, will be delivered by Professor Anthony Guiseppi-Elie from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of TAMU, who conducts research in a field where various disciplines of science meet. His work involves, among other things, designing and applying bioanalytical microsystems in medicine, as well as the commercial development of research into polymers combined with bioanalysis, bioinformatics, and bioelectronics.

Professor Guiseppi-Elie has authored numerous scientific publications (quoted over 5 thousand times, H index of 39). He is an active member of many scientific organisations, including American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (FIEEE).  Additionally, he founded the company ABTECH Scientific, whose operation involves specialised biomedical diagnostics.

The meeting with Professor Anthony Guiseppi-Elie will be held on November 24, at 01.30 pm, at the Wałbrzych Room, building A-3,  Smoluchowskiego St. 23 (Faculty of Chemistry of WUST).
