The 10th AECEF (Association of European Civil Engineering Faculties) Symposium combined with a meeting of the AECEF board is now past us. The meeting was dedicated to the current issues related to the cooperation between the university and industry with respect to educating civil engineers.
The seminar was organised by WUST’s Faculty of Civil Engineering. The chairman of the Symposium organizing committee and the AECEF meeting was Dr. Piotr Berkowski, representative of the Civil Engineering Faculty in the Board of the Association.
The introductory reports were delivered by AECEF Secretary General, Professor Alfredo Soeiro from the University of Porto (Portugal), and Włodzimierz Szymczak, President of ECCE (European Council of Civil Engineers) of the previous term.
The two-day meeting (21-22 November) focused on issues related to models and methods of educating civil engineers so that they could solve problems generated by globalisation and environmental change.
