Teaching Excellence Seminars: prof. Tomi Kauppinen – Designing Online Learning

We invite you to a meeting within a series of Teaching Excellence Seminars. The guest of the event will be prof. Tomi Kauppinen of Aalto University, who will tell us about online learning design.

Tomi KauppinenTomi Kauppinen of Finland will share his experience on designing online learning at Aalto University. He will pay attention to such issues as augmented reality, virtual reality, online textbooks, educational games, videos, and podcasts. Together with his audience, he will explore blended and hybrid learning models, enriched with examples across diverse disciplines.

Prof. Tomi Kauppinen is the head of Aalto Online Learning at Aalto University. Before earning his PhD, he designed visualization apps for international companies, followed by postdoc, professorship and Privatdozent positions in Germany.

Tomi Kauppinen is a versatile author and academic known for his work in cognitive systems, AI, information visualization and online learning. He is passionate about using storytelling, visuals, augmented realities, and AI to enhance our understanding of the world.

Tomi is a community builder, keynote speaker, educator, and the host of Cloud Reachers podcast on Spotify. He aspires to create engaging learning experiences, inspire valuable mindsets, and shape an exciting future as head.
