An agreement on cooperation in the areas of scientific research and academic exchange has been signed by Professor Cezary Madryas, Rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and Richard Wlezien, PhD, Vice-Rector of Missouri University of Science and Technology (USA).
The aim of the agreement is to support cooperation in the fields of education and scientific research as well as increase the scale of both universities’ research activities. The inter-university cooperation will include the exchange of students, staff and academic teachers, as well as joint research projects and co-organisation of seminars and academic meetings.
The agreement was concluded for a term of seven years. It is a framework agreement, with detailed scope for cooperation to be agreed in January when a group of US researchers visits our University.
- The research we will jointly conduct concerns such areas as mechanics and laser and incremental technologies - explains Professor Edward Chlebus from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the coordinator of the agreement. - We are planning to exchange students, doctoral students, and employees, as well as introducing parallel education via the Internet. Employees will also be able to exchange research results in the field of advanced technologies, e.g. aviation - says Professor Chlebus.
Missouri University of Science and Technology, founded in 1870, currently delivers degree programmes to 7 thousand students. The university provides education mainly under degree programmes belonging to the STEM group (science, technology, engineering, and maths), including, among other things, specialisations related to space, mining, and oil engineering.
