The exchange of students and academic teachers as well as undertaking projects in the field of architecture and construction are the joint objectives of the future cooperation between Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the University of Split.
A six-strong delegation from the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Split stayed in Wrocław from November 25 to November 29. During this time, our guests visited places including the university campus and laboratories located in building C-7 and the Geo-3EM complex, as well as the 3D Scanning and Modelling Laboratory at the Faculty of Architecture.
The main purpose of the visit was to sign a bilateral framework agreement on cooperation with WUST’s Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
- In the future our universities would like to develop student exchanges under the Erasmus and Summer School programmes and short-term exchanges of doctoral students and academic teachers, as well as to conduct joint research projects under the "Horizon Europe" programme and the European Alliance – says Professor Nikša Jajac from the University of Split.
- One of the projects we could carry out in cooperation with Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the European Football Federation (UEFA) consists in the revitalisation of the medieval castle and castle tower with a football pitch in between - adds Professor Alen Harapin from the University of Split.
The said facility is the Igraliste Batarija stadium in Trogir, where the local club HNK Trogir has its seat.
In the near future, further research areas are to be established in which scientists from both universities can carry out their projects together.
The University of Split, one of the largest tertiary institutes in Croatia, was founded in 1974. Currently, about 20,000 students are studying at its eleven faculties.
