Almost 280 thousand of various items - technical magazines, architectural reports, photographs, and negatives - are now being digitised at WUST's Centre for Scientific and Technical Knowledge and Information

The activities involve scanning and editing Polish magazines published since 1948, including titles issued by Wrocław University of Science and Technology - a valuable source facilitating research and an important part of the national heritage that shows the development of Polish science over years as well as its influence on the world’s science.

- The other materials, related to the broadly understood issues of architecture and archaeology, make up unique documentation of Poland’s historic buildings with a special emphasis on Lower Silesia. Items scheduled for digitalisation include technical magazines and architectural reports, as well as large-format stock-taking measurements of historic buildings, negatives, and photos - says Piotr Pinkawa from the Laboratory of Methods of Digitisation and Multimedia of WUST’s CSTKI.

The digitalisation and proper description of a resource will ensure its long-term storage and archiving in a digital format, and - at a further stage - it will enable common online access to the materials using the most modern Polish digital libraries.
