Our student wins a medal at the Taipei Universiade

Barbara Rutz, a student of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, has won, along with her fellow sportswomen, a bronze medal for fencing at the Summer Universiade in Taipei. In the decisive duel, the Polish fencer beat the French contenders 45:36

The 29th Summer Universiade is now being held in the capital of Taiwan. The academic representation of Poland, including five students of WUST, is taking part in the competition.

Representing our country, Barbara Rutz was one of the contenders in the women's team fencing tournament. The student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, along with the other young Polish fencers, won a bronze medal by beating French fencers in the decisive round.

Additionally, the student of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management Urszula Hofman took part in women’s judo tournament, Adam Jurzak of the faculty of Electronics contended in the archery competition, Daniel Marcol of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering participated in the fencing competition, and Jan Szałagan, a student of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management, entered the lists with other golfers.
