Politecnico di Torino (PoliTO) is hosting the 6th edition of Unite! Dialogue. During the event, Rector Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs signed the official document that confirms Wroclaw Tech's joining the Unite! alliance

The signing of the Unite! Charter officially completes the ongoing process of inducting new members into the alliance from December 2021 and the start of even closer cooperation to build the European university model. In addition to our university, Unite! Charter, the Austrian University of Technology Graz (TU Graz) has also joined.

– This is a special moment in the history of our university - says Rector Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs. – By participating in the Unite! network, we are joining the transformation of the concept of the European university, at the very beginning of this journey. This gives us a real opportunity to shape the model of education at the European level. It is also a great chance for the development of the Wroclaw University of Technology, both on a scientific and teaching level, as well as on an administrative level.

Professor Harald Kainz, Rector of TU Graz, also expressed his satisfaction at the completion of the inclusion process: - Membership of the alliance opens an important new chapter in the internationalisation of our university's activities. Unite! will have an impact on all levels of the university. The members of our academic community are ready to engage intensively in networking to support the creation of a new quality of European higher education.

Unite! in a new way

unite_umowa_5.jpgAs of today, Unite! constitutes a network of nine European technical universities, the members of the alliance are: Aalto University (Finland), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany), Grenoble INP-UGA (France), Politecnico di Torino (Italy), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - Barcelona Tech (Spain), Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Graz University of Technology (Austria) and Wroclaw University of Technology.

Together, we will work on connecting engineering, science and technology to grand societal challenges. The network is also intended to be a foundation for broader cooperation among European universities by increasing student and staff mobility and supporting the quality, integration and competitiveness of European higher education.

In July, the European Commission announced the list of university alliances that will receive Erasmus+ funding. Among the beneficiaries was the Unite! network, which received more than €14 million for its activities. Receiving this funding means ensuring the alliance's stable development over the next four years.
