Jędrzej Górski, a doctoral student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of WUST, has received a Kościuszko Foundation grant. 40 people from different parts of the country were awarded under the programme

Our researcher received a $ 15 thousand grant, which he will spend on a 5 months’ stay in an American research centre. In all likelihood, it will be NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. The researcher must take the trip during the academic year of 2018/2019

To be awarded the grant, Jędrzej Górski had to submit an application approved by three people, including Professor Zbigniew Sroka, the supervisor of Jędrzej’s doctoral thesis. After his application received a positive assessment, our doctoral student was invited to Warsaw for the final interview, in which he did well enough to become one of the 40 winners.

- I’m planning to leave for the USA and work at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California for five months – says Jędrzej Górski. – During my stay, I’m going to help the staff with the day-to-day laboratory activity and collect material for my PhD thesis.
