Professor Adrian Bejan from the American Duke University delivered the last in WUST’s Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar series of lectures before the summer holiday. Professor Bejan is an outstanding specialist in mechanics and the discoverer of the constructal law in thermodynamics.

He talked about the manifestations of this right in nature and its application in human systems design during his lecture entitled "Nature, evolution and purpose", which he delivered at our university on June 24.

Prof. Adrian Bejan was awarded the Benjamin Franklin Medal for „Thermodynamics and constructal theory, which predicts natural design and its evolution in engineering, scientific, and social systems”. Professor has made contributions to modern thermodynamics and developed what he calls the constructal law. He received all his degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S.1971, M.S.1972, Ph.D.1975).
