Every year, the Stanislaw Lem European Science Prize (Lem Prize) is awarded to outstanding young scientists for groundbreaking research and discoveries. The laureates include Prof Randall J. Platt (ETH Zürich), Prof Samuel Stranks (University of Cambridge), Prof Ido Kaminer (Technion) and Dr Tobias Dornheim (HZDR).

Andreas Stadler: New Challenges for Europe. Peace, the Rule of Law and Climate Change
Andreas Stadler - Austrian Ambassador to Poland - was the next speaker at the Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar. The Austrian diplomat and political scientist spoke about the biggest challenges currently facing Poland, Austria and other European countries.
The lecture, entitled 'New Challenges for Europe: Peace, the Rule of Law and Climate Change', took place on 18 October.
Andreas Stadler (born 1965) is an Austrian diplomat, political scientist, curator, university lecturer and publicist. He took up his position as Austrian ambassador to Poland in September 2021. Previously, he was ambassador to Malta (2018-2021) and deputy head of Austria's delegation to the OSCE (2013-2018).
He also headed the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York (2007-2013) and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw (1999-2004). From 2004 to 2007, he served as advisor for science, arts and culture in the cabinet of Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer.
Ambassador Stadler is also a visiting professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and has been teaching at the University of Vienna since 2016.
For his activities, he has been awarded the Golden Badge of Honour for his services to the Republic of Austria, as well as the Polish decorations "Meritorious for Polish Culture" and the medal "Meritorious for Warsaw".
