We have signed a cooperation agreement with ETCO Space from Oman. Together we will develop satellite technologies and data analysis. The document was signed by Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs, Rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and Dr Abdulaziz al-Sawai, President of ETCO Space.

The partnership will focus on five main research areas related to Earth observation technologies and satellite data analytics. The agreement also includes joint initiatives in training scientific staff and using the ground station built in Oman for satellite communication.

The meeting with ETCO Space representatives was also attended by Prof. Dariusz Łydżba, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation; Prof. Renata Krzyżyńska, Vice-Rector for External Relations; Prof. Rafał Walczak, Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems; Dr Daniel Więzik, President of SatRev; Łukasz Maciejewski, Board Member and Chief Technology Officer; Piotr Bober, Business Development Manager at SatRev; and Witold Śmidowski, former Ambassador of Poland to Iran and Saudi Arabia.

ETCO Space was established under the Oman Vision 2040 plan to support the Sultanate’s development in satellite technologies and the use of satellite data for economic growth and national security. The company cooperates with NASCOM (the Omani Aviation and Space Agency) and ETLAQ, a commercial Omani spaceport currently under construction.

In 2021 ETCO began working with SatRev on satellite delivery, construction and operation of a ground station in Oman, and satellite data analysis.
